Deezer Will Let Listeners Remove Fully AI Generated Music From Search

Deezer plans to launch a global on/off setting before the end of 2026 that can hide fully AI-generated tracks, albums and related artist profiles from search results.

The setting is reversible. Listeners who activate it can later restore access to the affected catalog, making the feature a user preference rather than a platform-wide removal.

Deezer says the filter targets music created entirely through generative-AI platforms and treats limited AI assistance differently. That distinction matters for musicians who use AI for one production step while retaining human songwriting, performance or arrangement.

The company reports receiving nearly 90,000 fully generated tracks per day, with synthetic music exceeding half of daily deliveries on peak days. It also says more than 42 million detected AI tracks were excluded from recommendations between January 2025 and August 2026, while more than 14 million albums have received AI labels.

Will Deezer delete all AI music? No. The announced toggle removes detected, fully AI-generated music from an individual listener’s search results. Users may turn it off, and Deezer has not described the feature as a blanket catalog deletion.

Why it matters: AI music creators may remain technically available while becoming invisible to listeners who select a human-only experience. Clear creator identity, accurate disclosure and direct fan relationships therefore become more important than relying exclusively on streaming search and recommendations.
