Fred Again Says The Creative Process Is Why He Does Not Use AI Music Tools

Published: 9/26/2026

British producer Fred again.. says he has felt no desire to try AI music because he values the act of making music itself—not just the finished recording.

In Instagram Stories shared on September 25, Fred again.. wrote that “the opposite of AI music” is not human music, but making music. He described the process of working toward an idea as central to his identity and a form of meditation.

His comments are a personal artistic position, not a statement about copyright, licensing or a platform policy. They add a high-profile voice to the debate over whether generative tools change what artists value in the creative process.

Why it matters: For an AI music creator, the strongest answer is not to argue that a tool did all the work. Show the human choices behind the release: songwriting, prompting, selection, editing, arrangement, production and the artist story.

That distinction helps listeners understand whether a release is fully generated, AI-assisted or built from a creator’s original songwriting and performance decisions.
