DistroKid currently allows artists to add or correct songwriter, producer and other credits after a release is live through its Credits dashboard.
Select the song, add the appropriate role, save the change and send the updated metadata to streaming services. Songwriter credits generally use the writer's legal name rather than a stage name, and not every store displays every credit it receives.
For AI-assisted releases, keep a separate creation log that identifies human lyrics, generated material, AI-assisted revisions, production roles and final human decisions. Distributor metadata is not a copyright ruling, but accurate records can reduce confusion during splits, licensing and disputes.
Practical takeaway: Correct visible credits now, preserve your private evidence, and recheck your distributor's current requirements before a time-sensitive release update.
