Source: The AI Musicpreneur — Northface God Pulls “Faker” Video
Korean rapper Northface God deleted the music video for his song “Faker” after criticism that it used an AI-generated likeness of esports star Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok without permission.
The video was available for approximately three days. Northface God apologized, said the use resulted from his own ignorance and acknowledged that he had not intended to profit from the celebrity’s face.
The song remains available on streaming services; the deleted asset was the music video containing the disputed likeness. Neither Faker nor his organization, T1, had publicly commented as of the report’s publication.
Why it matters: An AI-generated face is not automatically cleared for commercial use. Musicians should obtain permission before placing a recognizable person’s likeness in a music video, cover image, advertisement or promotional campaign—even when the image is synthetic rather than a photograph.
