Sonilo raised $11 million for an AI system that studies an uploaded video and creates music and sound effects around its pacing, emotional turns and scene changes.
The company was founded by former TikTok AI and music leaders. B Capital led the round, Redpoint participated, and the capital is intended to expand computing capacity, creator integrations and licensing work.
This is bigger than another text-to-song generator. Sonilo is positioning AI music as part of the video-editing workflow, where the soundtrack responds to the cut instead of forcing the editor to cut around a finished song.
Why it matters: Music-video creators, advertisers and short-form producers could gain a faster route from picture lock to synchronized audio. Rights remain central: Sonilo says it trains with licensed music, names Shutterstock as an early partner and expects additional publishing and master-recording agreements.
