Spotify will begin displaying “AI Persona” badges on applicable artist profiles in mid-September.
The badge identifies an artist’s public identity as an AI-generated persona—not how the music itself was made. Creators can self-disclose through Spotify for Artists, while Spotify may review profiles using photorealistic AI imagery.
Why it matters: A hybrid artist using AI tools, human vocals, instruments, lyrics, and production should not automatically be treated as an AI Persona. This policy focuses on whether the artist identity presented to fans is artificial.
